About the event

Ms. Carolina will be leading Super Seeds Science, using the curriculum from Home Science Tools, to explore deeper in the world of seeds.

This is a 6 week program, each week learning more with, experiemts, projects, and activities that will keep you child wanting to learn.

Have you ever wondered what makes a plant grow? How do tiny seeds sprout into a thriving leafy plant?

Students will get hands-on experience germinating seeds and develop models demonstrating how multiple animals cause pollination and seed dispersal. Students will understand the relationships between seed diversity and reproduction.

Ms. Carolina will provide a students work books, with detailed, step-by-step instructions for six activities designed to engage your student in seed diversity. The student experience has inquiry-based science experiments and assessments designed to enhance your students' understanding of seed growth and diversity.

This 6 week program includes:

  • Week 1- Seed Sorting to understand diversity
  • Week 2- Make a model creating a pollinator and demonstrate the process of pollination
  • Week 3- Demonstrate methods of seed dispersal by different animals
  • Week 4- Make a seed pod model and demonstrate seed pod "explosion"
  • Week 5-  Remove seed coats and model plant growth
  • Week 6-  Make a model of the seed germination process, including the parts of the seed
