About the event

Junior Farmhand is a 6 week Drop-off Program that will challenge your child’s problem solving, critical thinking and team work skills.

Topics / Tasks Covered:

  • Farm Chores
  • Animal Husbandry
  • AG Projects
  • Farm Science & Labs
  • Livestock Conservation
  • Nature Journaling

Curriculum Supported & includes ELA / Writing, Math, Science & History Elements.

This session will consist of 6 - 4 hour long classes, held weekly, on specified Fridays, from 8:00am - 12:00pm. This is a drop-off class taught by Ms. Ashley & Ms. Carolina incorporating the following curriculum into our lessons and activities: 

Exploring Agriscience, Farm Anatomy, Harbor & Sprout as well as multiple other supplements

Session 5: Equine Horses, Donkeys, Mules

Week One: Equine

Week Two: Horses: Care, Anatomy

Week Three: Horses: Types / Uses ( Work, Show, etc.)

Week Four: Donkeys

Week Five: Mules

Week Six: Equine Housing & Fencing

Children should bring a water bottle, change of clothes, and packed lunch to each class.

Additional Information

What to wear

-  Play clothes

-  Closed Toed shoes

-  Sunscreen / Bug Repellant

-  Hat / Sunglasses

What not to wear

-  Anything you don’t want to get dirty

-  Open toed shoes

-  Clothing with tassels / frays/ hanging string etc.

Release of Liability Waiver:  Required from all participants.

Inclement Weather: This is an outdoor class, and we do not have public indoor cover available. Florida weather can change rather quickly, so in the event weather prohibits our ability to complete our schedule activities, all reasonable attempts will be made to reschedule. Please plan accordingly.

Many of our animals free-range. This includes chickens, roosters, turkeys, ducks, farm cats & 2 livestock guardian dogs, all of which are used to visitors. We do have active Honey Bee Hives on our farm.

Parents are responsible for the full tuition, regardless if your child is able to attend every date in their Junior Farmhand session. Refunds will ONLY be issued if an emergency prevents participation in all 6 scheduled class days within a single session.

Class sizes are set to a minimum of 8 & a maximum of 25 students per session.
