About the event
This class will focus on Reading, Creative writing and math skills. We hope to foster a love for both reading, writing and to teach practical math skills that kids can apply in their everyday lives.
Reading:
Every six weeks we will complete a different Tuttle Twins book, by Connor Boyack. We will discuss what we have read each class, and complete an accompanying activity.
Writing:
I believe in fostering a love of writing first and then working on the mechanics as we get more comfortable. Students will work both independently and cooperatively on fun writing prompts each week. We will utilize Sheryl Green’s, “Writing Prompts for kids” for many of our lessons.
Math:
We will focus on practical math skills and learn some Consumer Mathematics. Skills include measuring, weighing objects, using a ruler, using a measuring tape, budgeting, how to save money, ways to earn money, counting and exchanging money, etc. “Consumer Mathematics” by Abeka will be used to supplement our lessons.
The cost of this class includes the purchase of the selected Tuttle Twins book and our Witting Prompt workbook for your child.
A healthy snack and water will be provided. This is a drop off class.
This class will be limited to a maximum of 10 kids to ensure all children are able to get the most out of our time together.
